What UGC is and how brands use it
What UGC (user-generated content) means, how brands use it in social media, ads and TV, and why a lo-fi look works.
What is UGC and how does a brand use it?
UGC (user-generated content) means content created by users. In marketing, the term also covers content commissioned from creators, shot on a phone in the platform’s native style. Brands use it on their own channels, in paid ads or, with the right licences, on TV. Paid content must be disclosed as advertising.
Why does Unify use a lo-fi look?
Because footage shot on a phone, in recognisable settings and edited simply (for example in CapCut) looks like the rest of the feed and is easy to produce at scale. Lo-fi alone does not guarantee performance: results depend on message, execution, audience and distribution.
Content usage rights and whitelisting
What usage rights for influencer content are, what drives their cost, what whitelisting is and what must be agreed before TV use.
